Archbishop Adonteng Boateng denies involvement in Pastor Love’s arrest and conviction

Archbishop Adonteng Boateng has addressed allegations surrounding his involvement in the arrest and subsequent conviction of clergy member Hammond Love, popularly known as Pastor Love.

In an interview on Kingdom FM monitored by MyNewsGH.com, the Archbishop clarified the situation, which stems from their past conflicts that have captured significant public attention.

“I have a deep respect for Pastor Love,” Archbishop Adonteng stated, reflecting on their historical connection. He fondly recalled how Pastor Love began his ministry by preaching to soldiers in the barracks long before he even considered becoming a pastor himself. “He has always been a significant figure in the ministry,” Adonteng added, underscoring the admiration he holds for his fellow clergyman.

The controversy centers around claims that Pastor Love deceived a person who claimed to be a Ghanaian residing in Ohio. When asked about these allegations, Pastor Adonteng expressed his lack of knowledge regarding any wrongdoing by Pastor Love. “I was unaware of any alleged deception,” he said, clarifying that he had no involvement in the matter. He further emphasized that he did not instigate the arrest, noting, “I live in Virginia, which is quite far from where the complainant is located in Ohio.”

Despite their previous disagreements, Archbishop Adonteng affirmed his commitment to maintaining respect for Pastor Love. “I would never take pleasure in his difficulties,” he stated firmly. “My respect for him as a senior figure in the ministry remains unchanged.” This sentiment highlights the importance of unity and respect within the clergy, even amidst personal conflicts.
