The Senior Communicator for Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu has observed that the forthcoming 2024 elections could be jeopardized by the inactions and actions of the security agencies in Ghana.
Solomon Owusu made this comment in reaction to the clash that happened between some members of the NDC and NPP at Mamobi during a panel discussion on TV3’s NewDay monitored by MyNewsGh.com
According to Solomon Owusu, the security has failed to prosecute these perpetrators during clashes like these hence the constant repeat of these actions.
He added that this incident should be classified as a crime and must be treated with seriousness.
“Some of these people hide behind party colours to undertake their activities. What were the police doing? I am surprised the police couldn’t arrest a single soul when it was so clear.” He wondered
Solomon Owusu chastised the police saying that they had been sleeping and had refused to do their jobs as security personnel.
He cited the death of late Journalist Ahmed Suale whose murderers have still not yet been arrested wondering how policing under the current dispensation is being done. According to him, the police hide under intelligence operations to avoid making an arrest whenever there is a crime involving political figures
He added that the “actions and inactions of security agencies could jeopardize Election 2024 if care is not taken”
