Ghana coach, Otto Addo says he is anticipating tough games against Chad and Comoros in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will resume their Mundial qualifiers in March 2025. The four-time African champions will host Chad at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Matchday five games before hosting Comoros in the final Group I games in October 2025.

Speaking to FIFA Media, Addo, who led the country to qualify for its four Mundial said he is expecting tough games against two countries.

He however said he is hoping his players will be in good shape for the games next year after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games.

"My hope is we will develop in that time and we have to develop because it’s going to be very tough again. I think it’s going to be very, very close until the end of the qualifying groups," said the former Borussia Dortmund manager.

"Comoros especially have shown how good they are in matches against us and against Mali, but they’ve also shown that they’re vulnerable, so I’m hoping that we can use the matches we have in September, October and November in the AFCON qualifying to connect and get even better because that is what we will need to beat those teams," he added.

Ghana, who are aiming to make the fifth appearance at the global showpiece in USA, Canada and Mexico sit 2nd in Group I with 9 points after four games.
