Black Stars coach, Otto Addo says their first two games must be a wake-up call to the team.The four-time African champions has struggled so far in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and currently sit third in Group F with only one point.The Black Stars began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium last Thursday, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger at the Stade Municipal de Berkane on Monday.After the game against the 125th-ranked Niger, Addo says the first two games must be a wake-up call."So it's still possible but we have to improve, we have to improve much. We have to improve to use our chances and also to defend better in detail and to learn our lessons."Like I said, the goals are too cheap and we have to grow from this we have to learn from this. This is even more than a wake-up call," he added.Ghana will now take on Kwesi Appiah's Sudan in a doubleheader in October.

The four-time African champions has struggled so far in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and currently sit third in Group F with only one point.

The Black Stars began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium last Thursday, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger at the Stade Municipal de Berkane on Monday.

After the game against the 125th-ranked Niger, Addo says the first two games must be a wake-up call.

"So it's still possible but we have to improve, we have to improve much. We have to improve to use our chances and also to defend better in detail and to learn our lessons.

"Like I said, the goals are too cheap and we have to grow from this we have to learn from this. This is even more than a wake-up call," he added.
