2024 U20 Women's World Cup: Cynthia Konlan optimistic Black Princesses will make it out of the group
Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan is confident that the Black Princesses can rewrite history at the 2024 U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia by advancing past the group stage.Konlan, who plays for Al Hilal, participated in the tournament with the team two years ago but they failed to progress from the group, marking the sixth consecutive time they fell short.Despite past setbacks, Konlan remains optimistic about the team's prospects for success in Colombia this August.Speaking to the media on Saturday, she expressed her belief in the team's abilities: “I believe in them and I know they can do it. We've all watched the WAFU Zone B they played and 2023 African Games, they did their best and they gave everything.“I know when they put more effort at what they gave to Ghanaians, I know they can go far and I believe in them.”The Black Princesses are in Group E alongside Austria, Japan and New Zealand.Ghana, qualifying for its seventh successive U20 World Cup, will be among four African nations competing in the prestigious tournament.Currently, Konlan has joined the Black Queens in Japan for an upcoming international friendly scheduled for this Saturday.
