Music Producer and Sound Engineer, Hammer has opened up about why he never supported the idea of making Mark Okraku Mantey a Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts.
He is of the view that Okraku Mantey has over the years proven that everything should be about him and not the collective.
Hammer made this known while speaking in an interview with Accra-based Starr FM.
He said “I never supported Mark’s appointment and everyone knows. I was very loud on social media, I went at it with him. I wasn’t happy because we know each other and you know the kind of thing Hammer can’t or Hammer shouldn’t.
Our deeds show over time and we know who we are. Mark over the years hasn’t done anything…Nobody is disputing Mark’s prowess as a businessman. I’m actually a big fan of his when it comes to a certain point.
But you can tell a lot about someone…Public office is different. Public Office is putting your needs or wants aside and championing a course. The whole career of Mark Okraku Mantey its being about Mark. Look at Ibraham Ohene Gyan. Over the years Ibraham Ohene Gyan, the way he handles OM Studios, everyone who passed through OM Studios he did their wedding for them. Even dancers became editors. Self-development for everybody. If you’re with him and you start by sweeping, you’ll develop to become a cameraman.
On whether he knows what Mark has done, Hammer said “How do we know what Abraham has done? Because everyone can see. What you do in your room is what we can’t see but what you do outside is your deeds. What you do is who you are. Mark is not an evil person or a bad person but Mark doesn’t have the collective interest at heart”.
