SA users of Elon Musk’s Starlink will be cut off at the end of the month

Users of the Starlink service in South Africa will have their service terminated this month because the company is not licensed to operate in the country.

If you operate your Starlink kit outside the available areas, you can connect to the Internet only to access your Starlink account.

Starlink has thousands of low earth orbit satellites that can provide high-speed internet almost anywhere globally.

Starlink has been unable to obtain a license to operate from Icasa, with local ownership requirements seen as the main stumbling block.

Thousands of people in South Africa used Starlink devices outside the country where they were licensed. This was illegal, and the devices were restricted from being used for two months.

Starlink said that customers who have been using a regional plan for more than two months must either change their account country or return to the country where they ordered their service.
