Five things you (probably) didn’t know about King Paluta
Ghanaian rapper King Paluta, born Thomas Adjei Wireko, was born and raised in Atonsu Bokuro, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
He was raised by his single mother, on whose advice, he is now a rap king.
The rapper has recently won the hearts of music lovers with his inviting melodies.
Here are five facts you probably didn’t know about him:

Underground artist for over a decade

With too many ups and downs in his career, there is no sign this young man is giving up on his dreams until they are accomplished.

He had his first demo somewhere in 2004. And because of financial constraints, he was not able to record any tracks again until 2008.

It was then that he met Abismall and Owuraku (Phills Bright). These two started giving him studio exposure. They gave him the chance to be featured on their tracks.

But as serious as he is, he never sleeps on his dreams. From 2007 through to 2011, the king was involved in street rap battles. These battles got him great publicity after he kept on knocking people down with lyrical punches. The best part of it is that he will steal your fans and take the money at stake too.

One of the most trending artists in Ghana

While his name might not have been on everyone’s lips just two years ago, today he stands as one of the most trending artists in the country.

The turning point for King Paluta came with a bold decision to switch from rapping to singing, utilising his unique husky baritone voice and crafting enchanting and highly relatable lyrical compositions.

His breakout single, “Yahitte,” marked the beginning of this new chapter in his musical journey. Collaborations followed, with tracks like “Yahitte Remix” featuring heavyweights like Strongman, Amerado, Qwame Stika, and Andy Dosty, as well as another “Yahitte Remix” featuring Kuami Eugene, further solidifying his position in the industry.

Ghana’s hottest rapper

The Ghanaian music scene has been thriving with talented artists who have been making waves both locally and internationally. One such artist who has been making a name for himself in the industry is King Paluta, the rapper known for his unique style and lyrical prowess.

King Paluta’s rise to fame can be attributed to his consistency and dedication to his craft. He has released several hit songs and collaborated with other artists, showcasing his versatility and ability to adapt to different music styles.

Drill artist

Drill music from Kumasi has been trendy in Africa and the world at large since 2020. King Paluta is one of the talented rappers from Kumasi who has benefited from the genre and movement. “Yahitte (We Have Blown) became a huge hit on Ghanaian streets and slums.

As he continues to make a mark in the industry, King Paluta is definitely an artist to watch out for. With his raw talent and passion for music, he is set to become a household name not only in Ghana but also on the global stage.

Fans can expect more exciting projects and collaborations from this talented rapper as he cements his place as one of the brightest stars in African hip-hop.

Hustling journey

Having been through a couple of labels already, King Paluta got signed to an undisclosed label in 2012. With sugar-coated lips, this label promised the young Thomas lots of things that keenly included big-time brand promos and blowing of the tracks.

Having spent 3 years of consistent recordings and sleeping in studios with this label, he realised all these promises would never come to pass if he should spend the next few days with that label. Having been through lots of promises and failures, he is said to have learned a lot from them.

On the verge of losing hope and giving up on all of his dreams,  an opportunity came his way.

One day, he went to Solid FM Freestyle Saturday and met the show host, Kwame Poku “Scientific.” His words still remain the source of inspiration for Paluta; he once said in an interview.

Scientific told Paluta, “You are too talented to hide your lamp under the bed. You need to come out. Since then, he and DJ Slim have been holding me back.” Since then, his fame has kept on growing relating to the higher number of radio airplays.

With his hard work and endurance, he caught the eye of NKZ Music Boss, Nana Yaw Maradona (Guru). He later got signed to the NKZ Music group and released his debut track since joining the label.
