Your greed is destroying our water bodies – NPP’s Kate Gyamfuah to illegal miners

The national Women organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfuah, has appealed to people engaged in illegal mining to desist from their devilish acts.

She argues that their actions fueled by greed is destroying the efforts of individuals who are engaged in proper mining activities.

Kate Gyamfuah, who says she has been mining for the past 32 years, indicated that she is shocked that water that used to be clean is now being destroyed just to satisfy the whimsical interests of some people.

“Proper mining is possible. I’ve been mining for 32 years, and when we started, these water bodies that have been destroyed were our source of drinking water.

However, now, due to greed, some people have put their machines in the water bodies and are mining in there. I will urge them to put a stop to it because their activities are even affecting people engaged in proper mining,” she said on Adom FM.

Adding that “we are not saying we are coming to take food from your mouth. All the people are saying is that the way you are mining is not the best and not in the best interest of the country so you need to have proper ways of mining”.
