Samartex midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo says he and his teammates will do a decent job in their CAF Champions League opener against Victoria United.

The Timber giants will take on their opponent in an away fixture on August 18, 2024, before the return fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana.

The team touched down in Douala, Cameroon on early Thursday morning for the much-anticipated clash slated for Sunday.

Speaking to Kessben FM, as followed by Footballghana.com, the former Real Tamale United star affirmed his side will do a decent job against their Cameroonian opponent.

“It’s a big platform for us to prove our worth in Africa. This is a huge motivation for the players. We are not under pressure going into the game. We are representing Ghana and we are aware of the task ahead. We’ve talked to each other as we aim to do a decent job against Victoria United”

The Ghanaian champions are representing Ghana for the first time in the CAF elite competition after emerging as champions in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season, dethroning Medeama.

The winner of the tie between the Ghanaian outfit and Victoria United will progress to the second preliminary round where they potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.
