Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has emphasized the need for confidence within the squad as they aim to challenge the top European teams.Following Arsenal's narrow miss of the English Premier League title, losing to Manchester City by just two points, Partey spoke about the importance of self-belief after Arsenal's 5-4 penalty shootout victory over AFC Bournemouth.Partey stressed that confidence is crucial for Arsenal to compete at the highest level.“I think the confidence is always there. We are there to compete with the best and we know we need to get the best out of ourselves to be able to compete. We have to compete against each other and then, at the end of the day, we will be able to compete against the other teams.”In Arsenal's preseason win, Partey played a role as fellow Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo scored for Bournemouth through a deflected shot.Partey aims to play a more significant role this season, hoping to overcome last year’s injury issues and missing the 2023 AFCON for Ghana.
