We must ensure that football is enjoyed in a safe and peaceful environment – IGP Dampare

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure football is played in a safe and peaceful environment where it can be enjoyed.Speaking at a meeting between the Police Administration and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at the Police Headquarters, Dr. Dampare stressed that the security service is ready to assist in making match venues very peaceful and safe.He indicated that the Police Service will look at putting preventive measures in place rather than waiting for violent clashes to occur before reacting."We have arrested five people, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who engage in violence are held accountable. We must all rise up to the responsibility of ensuring that football is enjoyed in a safe and peaceful environment.
