The Ghana Armed Forces has denied claims of ever threatening to take over power in Ghana through a coup.
The Ghana Armed Forces were responding to the claims of the Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG), Dr Emmanuel Akwetey that they, through a press conference, threatened to take over power in 2016 and 2020 if the election turned violent.
GAF has assured the people of Ghana that it has no intention of taking over the administration of the country.
They promised to ensure that they prevent any group, association or individual who has any plans of unlawfully taking over the administration of the country.
GAF in its statement indicated that it is looking forward to peaceful elections in December.
