The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Walewale will decide who becomes their parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections.
The election was necessitated by an order by the Tamale High Court for a rerun after the previous one was annulled.
In this election, two persons, including Dr. Mahama Tia Kabiru and the incumbent Member of Parliament(MP) Hajia Lariba Zuwera Abudu, contested in the previous primaries that the Tamale High Court annulled.
The two maintained their positions on the ballot paper.
The election was expected to take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, but was rescheduled to Monday, September 9.
The change in the date has been necessitated as a result of the seven-day funeral rites of the late paramount chief of the Wungu traditional area, Nazori Alhaji Saaka Sulemana, scheduled for September 8.
