Uefa Conference League playoffs: Ghana goalie Lawrence Ati-Zigi keeps clean sheet to lead St. Gallen to victory
Ghana international, Lawrence Ati-Zigi put on a fantastic performance for FC St. Gallen on Wednesday night and led the team to beat Slask Wroclaw 2-1 in the Uefa Conference League qualification round 3. The Black Stars goalkeeper started for his team in post and had protection from a back four that included his compatriot, Stephan Ambrosius.In the first leg of the tie played in Switzerland, Lawrence Ati-Zigi made some important saves and managed to keep a clean sheet at the end of the 90 minutes.The game produced two goals with FC St. Gallen getting the first just five minutes into the first half.Chadrac Akolo scored that goal after he was assisted by Bastien Toma.Later in the first half, Willem Geubbels also got his name on the scoresheet with an assist from Chadrac Akolo to seal the important win for FC St. Gallen over Slask Wroclaw.FC St. Gallen must now fight to protect the lead in the second leg to enhance its chances of making it to the group stage of next season’s Europa Conference League.
