North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has welcomed Rock City’s decision to withdraw its bid for the purchase of four SSNIT hotels.

He is, however, calling on the government of Ghana to announce a total cancellation of the sale.

The legislator who disclosed the deal to the public said that is the only way public servants will be made to go back to work.

Making this position known in a post shared via social media, Okudzeto Ablakwa said “This Rock City withdrawal does not address our principled opposition to the sale of the SSNIT hotels.

What if Freddie Blay’s son takes over with his US$200million bid?

The only way to prevent Monday’s national lockdown is for government to cancel the sale.

#HandsOffOurHotels“.

Prior to the announcement by Rock City that it had withdrawn its bid, Organized labour had announced a nationwide strike for all public sector workers.

The strike will only be called off if the state announces that it has cancelled the move to sell the hotels completely.
