Stop using “ORAL” for personal scores – Raymond Archer warned

The Committee for Public Accountability (CPA) has taken on a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, Raymond Archer, accusing him of attempting to undermine Ghanaian entrepreneurs including business magnate Dr. Daniel McKorley.

Dr. McKorley, the Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies has been at the center of remarks by Archer, who allegedly suggested that McKorley “should pray that his government stays in power forever.”

At a press conference in Kumasi on Thursday (2 January), Executive Chairman of CPA and former MP for Manhyia North Collins Owusu Amankwah expressed outrage at these comments, describing them as baseless and damaging to the entrepreneurial spirit in Ghana.

He further emphasized that Dr. McKorley, a self-made entrepreneur, is not affiliated with any political party and has contributed significantly to the nation’s economy.

“As a matter of fact, we take a very serious view of the past and present statements of Mr. Raymond Archer to McDan Group CEO that he should pray that his government stays in power forever. We also want to put on record that Dr. Daniel Mckorley is not a card-bearing member of NPP, or any other political organization. Dr. McKorley, like any other Ghanaian, has every right to conduct legitimate business to help grow the economy. These unwarranted attacks only serve to undermine the business community,” said Owusu Amankwah

He further accused Archer, a member of the ORAL team established by President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, of misusing his position to settle personal scores against Dr. McKorley.

The group cautioned Archer to act professionally and warned that any further attempts to target McKorley or other entrepreneurs would face strong resistance, including legal action.

“The state has a responsibility to ensure the business community thrives for the collective benefit of society. We will not stand by while individuals or groups attempt to undermine the hard work and success of Ghanaian business magnates,” Owusu Amankwah warned.
