Speaker of Parliament has suspended sitting indefinitely.
Announcing the decision to suspend Parliamentary sitting, the Speaker said even though they have formed a quorum to sit, they do not have a quorom for decision making.
Prior to the Speaker announcing his decision to suspend Parliament, the NDC caucus had occupied the Majority area of the Chamber whiles NPP MPs had walked out of the chamber.
They had earlier at a press conference indicated that they will protect their Majority status jealously adding that attempts by the court to interfere in the affairs of Parliament is unlawful.
The NPP MPs indicated that they will wait for the decision of the Speaker who has been served with the ruling if the Supreme court to stay his ruling declaring four seats vacant.
The MPs whose seats have been declared vacant include:
1. Cynthia Morrison, the current NPP MP for Agona West constituency in the Central Region, who has filed to run as an independent candidate.
2. Kwadwo Asante, the current NPP MP for the Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region, who has also filed to run as an independent candidate.
3. Andrew Asiamah Amoako, currently an independent MP for the Fomena constituency in the Ashanti Region, who has filed to run in the upcoming election as a candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
4. Peter Kwakye Ackah (Amenfi Central), NDC.
