Salaries in Ethiopian league better than Ghana Premier League – Caleb Amankwah

Former Hearts of Oak defender Caleb Amankwah has revealed that salaries in the Ethiopian Premier League are better than players get in the Ghana Premier League.The former Aduana FC man joined Ethiopian outfit Ethiopian club Commercial Bank FC after leaving Hearts of Oak at the start of 2023.Speaking about how much players earn in Ethiopia compared to the Ghana league, Amankwah described the conditions there as better than what players in Ghana are paid.“As for salary issues, I will say Ethiopia is far better than what Ghana Premier League players get. If the salary in Ghana was something to write home about, like I would have stayed in Ghana other than go to Ethiopia,” Amankwah said as quoted by Asempa FM, as monitored by footballghana.com.“In Ethiopia, they don’t leave the country to go and play in other leagues a lot.“We the foreigners that are there, their salaries help us a lot. So we will remain there or move to other leagues than come back to Ghana.”
