The Ghana Police Service has urged the Democracy Hub demonstrators in Accra to desist from being uncivil and unpatriotic and also refrain from acts that are unghanaian.
Members of the Democracy Hub started their demonstration on Saturday at the Liberation Road Roundabout.
This is part of a planned three-day protest despite objections from the Ghana Police Service.
The police said they disagreed with the proposed route for the demonstration.
In a terse statement on Saturday (21 September), the Ghana Police Service said it has monitored attempts by the Democracy Hub demonstrators to frustrate and put impediments in the way of commuters and other road users.
“We are urging the demonstrators to desist from such uncivil, unpatriotic and unghanaian acts depicted in the images and videos and allow the general public to go about their businesses without any hindrance.”
“We would like to assure the public that more Police officers have been deployed across the city to manage the traffic and ensure security, law and order,” the statement added.
