GCB Bank commits to empowering SMEs through digital transformation

GCB Bank PLC has pledged its commitment to support small and medium enterprises as they thrive through a digital transformation journey.

Addressing the GCB SME capacity building seminar held in Accra on Tuesday (23 July), the managing director of the bank, Kofi Adomakoh, emphasised that digital transformation is not just a trend but a necessity for businesses to thrive in today’s fast paced and competitive environment.

“Leveraging digital tools can help you better understand and serve your customers, improving satisfaction and loyalty” he added.

Adomako also indicated that digital marketing and online sales platforms can help SMEs reach a wider audience, both locally and globally.

He noted that digital tools provide valuable insights and analytics to inform their strategic decisions.

He reiterated, however, that digital transformation is a journey that requires careful planning, sometimes. GCB Bank PLC says it will sensitise small and medium scale enterprises across the regions to grow their businesses through digital transformation.

This came to light at the GCB SMEs maiden commercial banking capacity building seminar here in Accra on the theme empowering growth, and optimising people and resources for the digital era.

The focus is to impart knowledge and confidence to drive transformation through their businesses.

In an interview with Asaase News, the director of Corporate Banking at GCB Bank, Linus Kumi, said the bank is dedicated to supporting the growth and success of SMES across the country.

On his part, the chief executive officer of Maxwell Investments Group, Maxwell Ampong stated that the use of AI and machine learning are transforming how SMEs operate by automating processes, enhancing customer experiences, and providing valuable insights.

“From chatbots to predictive analytics, AI solutions are becoming increasingly accessible to smaller businesses,” he added.

He also cited an example that an SME in the retail sector can use AI-driven chatbots to provide 24/7 customer support, handle common queries, and personalise shopping experiences that can lead to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.
