An Adabraka Circuit Court has remanded a Police Officer for shooting and killing a 25-year-old man Stanley Ahadji at Kuntunsi.
The Police constable Smith Gyekyi has been charged with murder and will reappear in court on September 9, 2024.
Prosecution Chief Inspector Achana informed the court that last Sunday August 18 at about police received information that a man had been shot in front of Koans Estate at Satellite.
Upon receiving the information, some police officers on duty rushed to the scene and met a man lying in supine position in a pool of his blood.
Investigation at the crime scene revealed that the Police officer was driving a solo on car which was being used as a commercial vehicle.
The pPolice officer picked Esther Owusua, who is a witness in the case, from Ablekuma Joma to Koans Estate area at Kuntunse Satellite.
However, sshe lost her way and called on the deceased to assist her.
There was an alleged misunderstanding over the fare which infuriated the policeman who pulled his side arm shot warning shots that killed the deceased.
