The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that starting October 3, a group calling itself Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey will hit the streets of Accra to demonstrate against the menace that has destroyed water bodies and forest reserves in the country.
The protest, which is expected to run for three days, will end on October 5, 2024.
The statement indicated that the police have schooled organizers of the protest on their responsibilities as protesters and their responsibilities as the police.
It, therefore, assured the general public of putting measures in place to ensure peace and security while protesters demonstrate on the streets of Accra.
