Winner of MTN Hitmaker Season 5, Kurl Songx has lauded the Play Ghana initiative for the massive airplay Ghanaian songs are getting lately on radio and at nightclubs.
The Play Ghana initiative which was spearheaded last year by Reggie Rockstone, Samini, Black Sherif and others was aimed at getting more attention for songs by Ghanaian artistes.
Speaking in an interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ crooner said now Ghana music is being played everywhere as compared to previously.
“Oh yes for me I think that now we can really feel that Ghanaian songs are being played everywhere on radio, at the pubs and also at the nightclubs.
“And I’ll plead that we should continue playing it so that we get to hear more Ghanaian songs as compared to previously when songs from other countries flooded our system.
“Just like Oliver Twist we’ll always ask for more airplay of Ghanaian songs at all our social gatherings but we thank everybody for helping us in this regard,” he told the host.
