The presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia is engaging the youth of Ghana in the run-up to the 7 December general election.
The event will give Dr Bawumia an opportunity to outline his plans for job creation to young Ghanaians.
The youth engagement, under the banner of ”Bawumia for Jobs”, is a nationwide event, airing on digital platforms to a live audience in all the 16 regions. Asaase Radio is among the media organisations broadcasting the event.

An economist and banker by profession, Dr Bawumia holds a BSc in economics (First-class honours) from Buckingham University in the United Kingdom, an MSc in development economics from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in economics from Simon Fraser University in Canada.
He was deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana (2006-2008) and served as the resident representative of the African Development Bank in Zimbabwe in 2011.
Dr Bawumia has held academic positions as an assistant professor of economics at Baylor University in xxx, United States, a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia in Canada and a visiting senior research associate at the Centre for the Study of African Economies at Oxford University.
He was a visiting professor of economic governance at Central University in Ghana before becoming the vice-president of the Republic of Ghana in the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on 7 January 2017.
Bawumia was elected as the presidential candidate of the NPP, winning a majority of over 61% of party members’ votes, on 4 November 2023.
