Pastor Enock Boamah rejects clout chasing allegations, says Drogba spoke freely

Pastor Enock Boamah of Christ Embassy Airport City Youth Church has responded to the controversy surrounding the alleged healing of Ghanaian actor John Peasah, popularly known as ‘Drogba’, during the Friday Miracle Night service on 30 August.

A video that went viral on social media showed Drogba sharing his testimony, claiming to have received divine healing after four years of struggling with certain limitations due to his condition.

While some online users rejoiced at his supposed recovery, others expressed scepticism and criticism, prompting Pastor Boamah to address the backlash at service yesterday, 1 September.

Pastor Boamah clarified that Drogba’s testimony was voluntary, and that he had freely shared his experience of feeling better without any pressure or coercion from the church.

“The person said he feels better. We didn’t ask him; he said he feels better. Na me put that word for ein mouth? But his testimony is big than this; we will share it later. That testimony is one out of the hundreds of testimonies that happened to him that night.

“The testimony is bigger than this; I’ve told him to calm down. Devil can heal like this? And we no dey follow am? It doesn’t make any sense,” he stated.

Pastor Boamah also responded to accusations that he was using the situation for clout, saying, “Holy Spirit bears me witness that when we closed from the miracle service that Friday night, I told the media team not to post that testimony. I told them not to post it because I am not looking for clout.”

He further attributed Drogba’s healing to God’s divine intervention and expressed his unwavering faith, unshaken by the criticism that followed.

In the company of his sister, Drogba, talked about his inability to sit for long hours and how his condition worsened when in a crowd.

However, the situation had been different at the Friday Miracle Night service, where he was able to do the things that, hitherto, he couldn’t have done in the last four years.
