NPP Youth wing backs Atta Akyea over ‘Bawumia doesn’t drink alcohol’ comment

The Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has thrown its weight behind the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Hon Samuel Atta Akyea over recent comments

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) through its General Secretary Hon Fiifi Kwettey has demanded an apology from Samuel Atta Akyea over his comments that Ghanaians are blessed to have Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as their leader indicating that wise Bawumia does not drink Alcohol and is not calm and wise enough to offer the people of Ghana the right leadership.

“For the record, H.E. John Dramani Mahama is not a drunkard. He is a distinguished statesman whose commitment to the well-being and progress of Ghana is unquestionable. His track record in public service and his enduring leadership qualities speak for themselves,” Kwetey stated.

“We demand an immediate retraction and apology from Hon Atta Akyea for his unprovoked attack on the person of H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

“Failure to do so will leave the NDC with no choice but to explore all available avenues to defend the integrity and reputation of our Flagbearer,” the statement read.

But the New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth wing has backed the comments by Samuel Atta Akyea indicating that no apology will be rendered.

They reminded the NDC that they will meet them boot for boot.
