Former Mayor of Kumasi and ex-Member of Parliament(MP) for the Asokwa Constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has ignited a firestorm with his recent remarks regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking during an interview on Angel FM, Jumah, who currently serves as the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Limited, didn’t hold back, launching a series of bold accusations and controversial claims.
Jumah’s comments, monitored by MyNewsGH.com, have stirred a great deal of debate, particularly among political circles. Describing the NDC as a party made up of individuals lacking intelligence, he asserted, “Any member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who crosses over to the NDC has lost their mind. It’s only when their senses return that they come back to the NPP,” he said, drawing sharp reactions from the opposition.
He went further, claiming that the NDC has no members of sound mind, suggesting that even Alan John Kyerematen, a prominent figure who recently left the NPP, should be checked by a psychiatrist. “If you are still with the NDC, I’m sorry, but you should probably get your head examined,” Jumah stated bluntly.
In an explosive twist, Kofi Jumah alleged that Kyerematen, the former NPP stalwart, is being financially supported by NDC’s John Dramani Mahama.
According to Jumah, Mahama is using Kyerematen as a tool to weaken the NPP’s strong voter base in the Ashanti Region. “I have evidence on my phone,” Jumah claimed, “Mahama is backing Alan to diminish the influence of the NPP in its stronghold, and I can prove it.”
