The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lost the Mpohor seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The NPP’s parliamentary candidate, John Kobina Abbam Aboah Sanie polled 8,299 while the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Bentil Godfred Henry, polled 11, 680.
His victory adds to the number of seats the governing New Patriotic Party has lost in traditionally strong NPP strongholds.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Sekondi in the Western Region, Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer has been booted out of Parliament by the NDC’s Blay Nyameke Armah.
According to certified results from the Electoral Commission, Egyapa Mercer garnered 1,084 votes, representing 42.94% of the total valid votes, while Blay Nyameke Armah secured 14,558 votes, representing 56.40%.
