The National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 elections designed a youth manifesto to address the needs of the Ghanaian youth that voted massively for the political party.
In that manifesto, the political party promised a total overhaul of the system to ensure that the system works to perfection.
This manifesto is expected to be implemented by the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment under the leadership of George Opare Addo, who has been nominated as Minister.
The Youth Manifesto of the NDC promised, among other things, to implement free primary healthcare services at the basic level.
Also, they intend to introduce risk exposure insurance for health workers to provide financial protection and support in the event of injuries, illness, or other risks encountered on the job.
What’s fascinating to note is the promise to reward healthcare workers who accept postings to rural communities and underserved areas with a five-year work abroad programme.
