Midweek games excluded in 2024/25 Ghana Premier League schedule to lessen travel burden

There will no official midweek matches in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League Season after the fixture dates was announced by the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday (23, July).

The league will start on the weekend of Friday (6 September 2024) to Monday (9 September 2024), across all nine Premier League centres with no Official Midweek Matchday.

The GFA said “this policy is aimed at lessening the travel burden on clubs”.

The midweek will be used to clear outstanding games by Clubs that are participating in the 2024/25 Africa Inter Club Competitions or rescheduled games.

The 2024/25 season, which will conclude on Sunday, 8 June 2025, will consist of 34 weekends.

The Premier League will go on a one week break in the lead up to the 7 December 2024 National Elections to enable players and officials to travel across the country to fulfil their civic duty and responsibility.

The conclusion of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on 8 June 2025, will give Clubs ample time to fulfil CAF’s Club Licensing requirement ahead of their Africa adventure in the 2025-26 Season.

The  Champion of Champions is also slated for Sunday, 1 September 2024.
