Reverend Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), has called on Ghanaians to approach the new year with a renewed commitment to honesty in every aspect of their lives.
He emphasized that honesty is key to fostering national progress and ensuring fairness in society. Reverend Obeng shared this message on Tuesday night during a service at Ayigya, which marked the end of 2024 and ushered in the new year of 2025.
“As we enter the new year, all I am asking Ghanaians is for them to deal honestly with themselves so that nobody is shortchanged in what they deserve or have worked for,” the CCC General Overseer stated.
Corruption
Highlighting the widespread issue of corruption in Ghana, Reverend Obeng lamented that dishonest practices have become pervasive in various sectors, including religious, public, and private institutions.
“This attitude is displayed by pastors, politicians, and people in public offices as well as in private outfits,” he said.
He condemned acts such as bribery, extortion, under-invoicing, and petty thievery, noting that they rob the nation of the progress it deserves.
“Most times, people think only politicians are corrupt, but pastors and some persons in authority, especially in public and private places, dupe people, steal, and extort from them. The earlier we shun these attitudes, the faster Ghana can grow to become the kind of country we yearn to see,” Reverend Obeng advised.
Support for New Government
The CCC General Overseer urged Ghanaians to support the incoming NDC government with prayer, hard work, and positive attitudes to enable it to succeed.
He encouraged citizens to remain diligent and committed to their work, emphasizing that God blesses efforts made with sincerity.
Prophecy
Reverend Obeng also cautioned the clergy to focus on their spiritual mandate, which is to preach the gospel of Christ, rather than delving into political prophecies.
“Our mandate as men of God is clear. We are to consciously and intentionally preach Christ Jesus to our congregation and the population since it is only by accepting Jesus as our Saviour that we can live fulfilled lives,” Reverend Obeng stressed.
The CCC leader urged his fellow pastors to stay true to their calling, reminding them that their role is to guide people towards spiritual growth and not to create divisions through controversial predictions.
