I was tolerant of criticisms when I was president, says Mahama

The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says when he was president he was tolerant of criticisms.

Speaking during the “Worship with the Clergy” conference as part of his campaign for Election 2024 in Accra on Tuesday [1 October 2024], Mahama said during his tenure as president he received a lot of criticism but never reacted.

“As for criticism, I do think that; I mean, everybody knows me, when I was president, I was criticised from all directions and I didn’t react.”

He added, “But like you’re saying, we should train our people to be tolerant of criticism…”

“I am not a person who takes criticism in bad faith and I normally don’t respond adversarially to criticism.”
