How MyNewsGh.com predicted Bawumia – NAPO ticket in 2019

On December 30, 2019, MyNewsGh.com published an article predicting Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s ticket for the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the 2024 polls.

This was based on our sources within the corridors of power at the time coupled with the public appearance of both gentlemen which party foot soldiers described as a moral booster.

Subsequently, An activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party who was instrumental in the party’s 2016 online campaign Afia Adwubi has sparked a conversation on social media about her personal preference for a future NPP ticket in 2024 headed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo) as his running mate.

“Honestly, I am for this 2024. Bawumia-Napo✌��”, Afia posted accompanied by a picture of Vice President Bawumia and Napo at a public function.

More than 95% of the comments were very sure they want Dr. Bawumia to lead the NPP into 2024 but many disagreed about Napo while others yet still said the discussion of 2024 should be stopped because it can cause problems and misunderstandings.

NAPO named Bawumia’s running mate on July 4, 2024

After extensive consultations, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday, July 4, 2024 presented the Manhyia South lawmaker as his running mate to the National Council of the NPP.

He was unanimously endorsed by both NEC and Nationa; Council.

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh said he is deeply honoured and humbled to be selected as the running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 Presidential Election, stating that having been confirmed unanimously by the National Council of the NPP, he is now duty-bound to support Dr Bawumia win the 2024 Elections and propel Ghana to greater heights.

Dr Opoku Prempeh described his nomination as part of God’s plan for his life and prayed for further guidance as he supports Dr Bawumia as his vice presidential candidate.

While expressing his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and to the rank and file of the party for the unwavering support leading to his nomination, he called on all members to work for the success of the ticket so that Ghana can be transformed into a prosperous nation.
