Dennis Miracles Aboagye a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party(NPP) has paid glowing tribute to the late Madam Akua Donkor, Flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party(GFP) during an interview on Pure FM in Kumasi.

Responding to host Kwame Adinkra’s inquiry about the unfortunate news, Aboagye praised the founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) for her bravery and self-assurance, qualities he believes often went unnoticed.

“Akua Donkor’s bravery and self-assurance often went unnoticed,” Aboagye remarked. As a former presidential staffer and now a spokesperson for NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, he has observed the challenges faced by many uneducated individuals striving to make a name for themselves.

“Many uneducated individuals face intimidation, but Akua Donkor stood firm against such bullying,” he elaborated, emphasizing her resilience as she worked her way to prominence to advocate for her vision of transforming Ghana.

Aboagye noted that while Akua Donkor’s political career had a humorous aspect, many of her statements carried significant depth. “Her political career had its humorous moments, but her statements often carried significant depth, which is truly admirable,” he said.

He urged Ghanaians to honour her legacy now that she has passed, emphasizing that her confidence and refusal to be subdued were defining traits of her character. “Her confidence and refusal to be subdued were defining traits of her character,” Aboagye emphasized.

Akua Donkor, known for her bold and outspoken nature, founded the Ghana Freedom Party in 2012 and ran for the presidency multiple times.

Her journey from a cocoa farmer to a political leader was marked by resilience and determination. Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, she remained committed to her political goals and advocated for the rights of farmers and women.
