Diana Lovejoy was born in San Diego, California, sometime in October 1975. Lovejoy was a triathlete and software technical writer who left a life of wealth in Carlsbad, California, to become the notorious attempted murderess.
After graduating from Mountain View High School in her youth, Lovejoy went on to the University of California, San Diego, where she studied literature writing, psychology, music, and French before earning a bachelor’s degree in arts in 1995.
She was a standout member of the collegiate swim team and was chosen for the Provost’s Honors list four times in a row. During her tenure at UC San Diego, Lovejoy was elected to the academic honor organization Phi Beta Kappa.
