Collation Is 60% Complete, Results Coming In Smoothly – EC

As the nation eagerly awaits the final results of the presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed that the collation process is actively taking place at all 276 constituency collation centers across the country.

The process, which started immediately after the polls on Saturday, December 7, is a critical step in ensuring transparency and accuracy in the results.

Speaking at a media briefing on the evening of December 7, a representative of the Electoral Commission provided updates on the ongoing process.

“Reports from the regions indicate that about 60% of the polling station results have been received at the constituency collation centres,” he revealed, reassuring the public that the counting was progressing smoothly in most regions.

However, the process hasn’t been without its challenges. “So far, we have only one polling station, which is the Suaman Constituency in the Western North region, where a second recount of votes is taking place at the constituency coalition center.

This is the final recount by the returning officer,” he explained, pointing out that while recounts are rare, they are essential in maintaining the integrity of the election process.
