The newly installed Chief of Awutu Bawjiase Nai Kwaku Osardu IV has called for peace after his installation.
This follows the shooting of an individual in front of the Bawjiase palace by some men purported to be land guards a day before the installation ceremony.
Despite the unfortunate event, the ceremony went ahead under strict police supervision.
Citi News understands that the shooting was a result of a chieftaincy dispute between two factions in the area.
There is currently a heavy police presence in the Bawjiase township to ensure peace and stability.
Nai Kwaku Osardu III Chief of Bawjiase called for peace even after the incident while urging all the parties to unite.
“What we are saying is that we need peace in Bawjiase. This is the only way we can get development We were given a verdict in our favour and given the go-ahead to install a new chief.
“We are all one family and we want to invite our other brothers to join us to develop Bawjiase.”
