Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has encouraged Nsoatreman FC to "raise the flag of Ghana high" ahead of their maiden participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghana FA Cup champions will face TP Elect Sport from Chad in the first preliminary round of the tournament.

Nsoatreman will host the Chadian side at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 16 before the return leg on August 25 at a neutral venue in Cameroun.

This is due to Elect-Sport FC’s home ground, the 20,000-seater Stade Omnisports Idriss Mahamat Ouya in N'Djamena, not meeting CAF’s standards for hosting international matches.

Addressing the playing body and the technical team following a visit, Mr Okraku said, "You carry the aspirations of over 30 million Ghanaians and I will urge you to keep the focus and take your training seriously.

"Playing in Africa comes with enormous benefits. It is my fervent hope and prayer that you will raise the flag of our country high as you embark on this adventure.

"Medeama and Dreams did very well last time and we're confident about your prospects in the CAF Confederation Cup," he added.

The winner of the tie will either face Algeria's CS Constantine or Police FC of Rwanda in the second round for a slot in the group stages.
