Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu has set sights on securing qualification to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.The Timber giants are representing Ghana in the CAF elite competition next season following their historic Ghana Premier League triumph last season, dethroning Medeama.Samartex will travel to face Cameroonian champions, Victoria United FC on August 18, 2024 at the Omnisport Stadium before the return fixture in Ghana on August 25.Following the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) approval, Samartex will host Victoria United at the Accra Sports Stadium.“I can’t give a specific target but our main objective is to qualify to the money zone” he JoySports in an interview.Samartex are aiming to make a mark in their maiden CAF Champions League campaign.The team ended their preseason training tour in the Eastern Region last Wednesday as they return to Sameraboi for the Nsenkyire Cup.The winner of the tie will progress to the second preliminary round where they potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.
