Augsburg director Marinko Jurendic explains Patric Pfeiffer's loan to Young Boys BSC

FC Augsburg's Sporting Director, Marinko Jurendic, has revealed the reason behind loaning Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer to Swiss club Young Boys BSC.The former Hamburger SV defender will join Young Boys ahead of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Galatasaray on August 21.Jurendic stated, "We arrived at the mutual conclusion that a loan to an ambitious club competing in Europe where Patric will be able to play regularly. The aim is for Patric to gather experience playing at a high level for Young Boys, as well as featuring in Europe."Pfeiffer, who joined Augsburg on a free transfer last season, struggled to secure a regular starting spot. His loan to Young Boys is expected to provide him with significant playing time for the 2024/25 campaign.The 24-year-old defender switched his international allegiance to Ghana in 2022 and recently obtained his Ghanaian passport, making him eligible to represent the Black Stars. His current contract with Augsburg is set to expire in the summer of 2027.

FC Augsburg's Sporting Director, Marinko Jurendic, has revealed the reason behind loaning Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer to Swiss club Young Boys BSC.
