Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is confident that the team's long-standing rivalry with Medeama SC will inspire his players during their upcoming friendly.The match, scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2024, will mark the inauguration of the new T and A Stadium.Following the friendly, Kotoko will travel to Washington DC for an international match against DC United.The new Ghana Premier League season will begin in the first week of September, with Kotoko set to face Karela United in their opening fixture.“It is a huge opportunity because we've now assembled a different team with almost all our key targets now in.“I think it's good for us because we'll have about two weeks to train, and whatever we have done, we'll have the opportunity to exhibit it at Medeama.“To me, playing against Medeama in a new stadium and considering the old rivalry between Kotoko and Medeama in Tarkwa, I think it will bring out the best in the players, staff, and technical team.”
