Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known popularly as Chairman Wontumi has announced that Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrew Asiamah has been named the parliamentary candidate for the Fomena Constituency.
Hon. Asiamah contested the 2020 elections as an independent candidate and won after he was frustrated by the leadership of the party.
After winning the election, he joined the majority side in Parliament to help the NPP get the numbers in Parliament.
The decision by the party to make him their candidate is to help the party secure the seat and also bring back the Second Deputy Speaker who was expelled from the party prior to election 2020.
In a post shared via social media, Chairman Wontumi indicated that he introduced the Fomena MP to the constituency as constituency as the NPP’s Parliamentary candidate.
His post read “It was an exciting moment as we made our way to the Fomena Constituency, where the energy and enthusiasm of the people were undeniable. We proudly introduced Lawyer Andrew Asiamah Amoako as the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Fomena, joining forces with Dr. Bawumia in the lead-up to the crucial December 7th General Elections. With these two dynamic leaders at the forefront, I am confident the NPP is on course for a historic victory, ready to break the 8 and continue delivering progress for all Ghanaians!
