President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that some Agenda 111 projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
According to the president, this demonstrates his commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure across the country.
Highlighting the progress of the ambitious Agenda 111 projects, the President revealed that there are currently 96 active sites, with a completion rate of 64 percent.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Phase 3 of the Upper East Regional Hospital Project Akufo-Addo said the total cost of the project is estimated at US$1.7 billion.
“As of May 2024, 96 district hospital sites are active, with contractors deployed and work progressing. The overall progress rate is estimated at 64 percent, with some sites expected to be completed in 2024,” the President stated.
He also noted that while 26 sites initially encountered challenges, these issues have been addressed through re-engineering and relocation, and construction on these sites has now resumed.
Additionally, the construction of two regional psychiatric hospitals has begun in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, and Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.
