The second edition of the African Open Pro Fight Night, a multi-combat sports event, is set to take place on Saturday (7 September) at the DG Hathiramani Sports Hall, Accra Sports Stadium.
Organised by Steavano Kojo Tuekpe, Vice President of the Ghana Kickboxing Association (GKBA) and Ghana President of the World Kickboxing and Karate Union (WKU), the event will showcase a mix of boxing, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts (MMA).
This year’s edition will feature fewer combat sports compared to the inaugural event, with taekwondo, karate, and judo being excluded. However, boxing will make its debut, adding a fresh dynamic to the competition.
The official launch is scheduled for Thursday (5 September) at Decathlon Ghana in Kawukudi.
The inaugural African Open, held at the Korean Sports Complex, Tema, back in 2023, saw standout performances from Joe Lamptey in MMA and Serlom Darko in kickboxing. Tickets for this year’s event are priced at GHS20.
