A post-mortem of election 2024 should include spiritual issues – NPP MP

Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, believes that losing the 2024 elections is abnormal and needs to be interrogated.

He believes that the New Patriotic Party must not only interrogate the science and data but rather, they should also look at the spiritual aspect of the elections to know what actually went wrong.

“I don’t see it to be physical because it will be difficult for the same trends to go through all 276 constituencies. Mostly, it happens in one or two constituencies, but this happened across the board. Because of where I come from, I don’t take chances. Elections are not just about preparing and proper campaigning. It takes a lot to win elections, so if you can pray, pray, and if you have anything you believe in, you can consult them.

We mounted a spirited campaign comparatively. Bawumia did a P-to-P campaign. Even though Akufo-Addo is known to have been engaged in that kind of campaign, he did not do that the way Dr Bawumia did. No one can say Dr Bawumia did not do the work. If it was the campaign that wins the elections, Dr Bawumia would have won because Mahama did not run a spirited campaign,” he said on Asempa FM.

Adding that “for me, I’m not looking at the campaign alone. We were here when the pastors said there is a lot of spirituality in this election. There is something they saw that we did not see that’s why they were saying that”.

On the National Democratic Congress (NDC) he said the political party went all out for the 2024 elections because they knew that losing the election will spell doom for them and could destroy their political party indicating that they went all out to ensure that they win the elections.
