2025 Africa Cup of Nations: We have to defend better – Ghana coach Otto Addo insists after shaky start to qualifiers
The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has stressed that his team needs to improve to have a chance to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.After the first two games in the qualifiers, things are not looking good for the Ghana national team.The Black Stars in their first match lost 1-0 to Angola and subsequently settled for a 1-1 draw with Niger on Monday.Speaking in his post-match interview, Ghana coach Otto Addo said his team needs to work on defending and do better in subsequent matches.“So it's still possible but we have to improve, we have to improve much. We have to improve to use our chances and also to defend better in detail and to learn our lessons. Like I said, the goals are too cheap and we have to grow from this we have to learn from this. This is even more than a wake-up call,” Coach Otto Addo said after the game against Niger.The Black Stars will resume the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON later this year in October.
