Samartex midfielder Richard Darko says he and his teammates will do everything possible to secure victory in their CAF Champions League opening game against Victoria United this weekend.The first leg of the match is scheduled for August 18, 2024, in Douala, with the return fixture set to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.Samartex have already arrived in Cameroon and will commence their preparations for the much-anticipated clash on Sunday.“We’ve prepared well for the game. We’ve had discussions among ourselves. The technical team have done what they could and it’s up to us to do the job. We are mentally and physically ready for the game. We are looking forward to the game and we will do everything possible to return home with all the three points” he said.The Ghanaian champions are representing Ghana for the first time in the CAF elite competition after emerging as champions in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season, dethroning Medeama.The winner of the tie between the Ghanaian outfit and Victoria United will progress to the second preliminary round where they potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.
