Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated that the creative arts and tourism sector in Ghana is one of the sectors that needs to be strengthened.

He believes if that industry is strengthened it will foster growth and development in the country, considering its economic potential.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made this known when he visited the Trade Fair Center, which is currently under construction.

He indicated that the Trade Fair when done “ten times the nation’s current biggest facility for events, will immensely benefit the industry in many ways, including the ability to admit more people at lesser fees, for more profits”.

Making this position known in a post shared via social media, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said “This afternoon, I paid a working visit to the Trade Fair Centre, La, in Accra, where a 20,000 capacity Trade Fair Convention Centre is being constructed to boost the tourism and creative arts industry.

The facility, when completed will be a multi-purpose center, and strengthen Ghana’s position as an attractive destination for conferences, conventions and exhibitions.

The tourism and creative arts sectors are among the pillars that must be strengthened for the growth of this country, and building a centre of this magnitude, which is ten times the nation’s current biggest facility for events, will immensely benefit the industry in many ways, including the ability to admit more people at lesser fees, for more profits.

I was very impressed by the extent of work, and with firm assurances by the contractors to complete it in eight months, I look forward to commissioning this project in September, by the grace of God”.
