Shepherd’s death occurred Thursday, September 19th, 2024. No cause of death has been publicly revealed but Shepherd recently underwent emergency surgery.
Randy Shepherd was a famous evangelist with the Crossfire Ministries who left no stone unturned in his quest to win souls for Christ.
He graduated Asheville High School in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina before proceeding to the University of North Carolina Asheville for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, graduating in 1987.
A basketball savant, Shepherd played the sport all through High School and college and despite being called early in his life, he was walking away from Jesus when an injury that nearly took his life brought him back to the Lord.
A few years later, Shepherd started Crossfire Ministries with Jamie Johnson in 1993. The Ministry shares the word of God and the gospel message of Jesus Christ to sportsmen, women, and others.
Crossfire organizes summer basketball camps, student rallies, school assemblies, games, and many other means to spread the word of God. They also reach out to prisoners and organize international trips.
Since its founding, Crossfire has ministered in 68 countries, 46 states, and managed to have over 22,000 boys and girls attend their various camps.
Randy Shepherd tragically died in September 2024, sparking tributes from all who knew him.
